More than a club, we are a community that challenges and supports students as they realize potential and turn aspirations into reality.

About IBEC

The International Business and Economics Club (IBEC) is a student-run organization at the University of Oregon dedicated to preparing globally ambitious students for careers in international business, economics, and policy. We bridge the gap between academic learning and the realities of working in global markets by connecting students with the people, knowledge, and opportunities that shape international career pathways.

Founded within the Lundquist College of Business and open to all majors, IBEC brings together a diverse community of students interested in global commerce, multinational firms, foreign markets, and cross-cultural work environments. Our members explore how business and economics operate beyond borders and how students can position themselves for success in an increasingly interconnected world.

What We Do

IBEC’s programming is built around three core pillars:

Connect
We facilitate networking with industry professionals, alumni, and peers through site visits, guest speakers, career panels, and our annual black-tie dinner — one of the largest student-led networking events on campus.

Educate
We expose students to international business and career opportunities through skill development workshops, hands-on consulting/research opportunities, and discussions on global markets, firms, and economic trends.

Develop
We support members with practical career preparation, including resume guidance, interview preparation, and exposure to global recruiting practices and internships.

Our Community

IBEC offers a space for globally minded students to build meaningful relationships, exchange ideas, and learn from each other’s international interests and experiences. Many members pursue study abroad, international internships, consulting-style projects, or globally oriented careers after graduation — and IBEC provides the network and resources to help them get there.

Membership

IBEC is open to all University of Oregon students: That means no applications, dues, or prerequisites. Whether you’re interested in global markets, exploring career options, or simply curious about international business, you’re welcome to join.

Follow us on Instagram and LinkedIn to stay up to date on events, meetings, and opportunities. Or, come swing by our meetings 6-7PM on Thursdays in Lillis 132!
